When a child dies…
What do you say to the parents?
Do you say..”I’m so sorry for your loss”? Do you say..”I know how you must feel”? Do you say…”I can’t imagine how you are dealing with this”?…Is there anything you can say that can really help them? Can you REALLY imagine their pain?
I have been crying all day for this little boy, Drake Holder, the son of a past friend of mine. A boy I have never met. But still, I cry. I thank God my two boys are still breathing, still living, still here for me to hug and watch grow up.
This is what I did say.
God must have really loved you to have shared his angel with you these past years.
God must have really needed Drake to come home for something really special. God must have had something special, really special, only Drake could do. Be ok. Be ok…because he is in God’s hands.
He is home.
Its the time for thoughts again…
Thanksgiving. Christmas. New Years. This time of year can bring Appreciation. Praise. Resolution. Sadness. Frustration…
For some the season is a well spring of new beginnings, new hope, new dreams.
For some the season brings frustration. Am I going anywhere? What is all this for?
For some the season brings pressure, the feeling the whole world depends on their strength.
For some, the season brings the overwhelming feeling of being invisible.
For whichever scenario best fits your inner thoughts, my wish for you is to find that wonderful place of self sufficiency, self love, self strength, self determination.
Happiness does not depend on others.It depends on you. Find a dream. Find a hope. Find resolve.
Find the power to enjoy this season of magic.

“The Journey”
A journey is not a trip.
A journey is not a vacation.
A journey is not departing toward a pre-planned destination.
A journey is life itself.
We each have a journey as unique, private, and personal as our toothbrush.
With a definite beginning and certain ending.
The journey is constant-though it ebbs and flows, comforts and bruises, exalts and discourages. Amazingly, one may reclaim, relive and retrieve bits and pieces of the journey at any time.
Therein lies the blessing, the reward-or perhaps the curse. The marvelous miracle of memory can return
us to pleasant places or to times best forgotten; recall a long-lost thrill to make us smile again.
It is as easy as pressing “enter” on a computer keyboard and in varying degrees, is available to any of us. I know. I hear my 90 year old husband suddenly recall a happy incident from the cob webs of years past. Though often he cannot recall what he had for lunch the past hour.
Test that memory button often, as long as the journey lasts. For us to ponder an important question:
Does the person create the journey – or does the journey create the person?

NO.
A numerical sequence. Are we flipping out cause Bin Laden darkened the world on 9/11?
PROBABLY.
But if you like the geek stuff..here we go;
The numerical sequence of November 11 holds a special significance in the binary numeral system, which is the base-2 number system that represents numeric values using two symbols, 0 and 1. The date of November 11 has a binary number of 111110 where it has a decimal equivalent of 62 in the year 2010, and a binary number of 111111 with a decimal equivalent of 63 in the year 2011.
The number eleven has a special characteristic in mathematics where it is a prime number. It contains some interesting peculiarities where the number eleven times itself equals a palindrome:
Based on past calendar dates such as 10/10/10, or October 10, 2010, no significant or unusual phenomenon occurs simply because of a date that has the same numbers in a sequence.

Nov. 11, 2011, mythologies are everywhere with believers suggesting that 11/11 numerical sequences are signals from angels or numbers with hidden meanings. Even people who think little of numerology are finding meaning in the day: The Orlando Sentinel reports that Walt Disney World will host 11 weddings on 11/11/11.
But perhaps the most intriguing 11/11/11 mythology to pop up is the number’s link with the supposed 2012 Mayan Apocalypse. The ancient Mayan long-count calendar ends on Dec. 21, 2012, and some people believe that this date will usher in a new spiritual era, or even doomsday. Nov. 11, 2011 most likely became linked with Dec. 21, 2012, when believers noticed that the U.S. Naval Observatory had set the exact time of the 2012 winter solstice for 11:11 Universal Time on Dec. 21, according to John Hoopes, a scholar of Maya history.
