My Football Fanatic

20121010-080638.jpg

Where have I been? I haven’t blogged in months and my blogger buddies have almost given up on me….please don’t. Ive been at baseball games, football games, and lo and behold, watching my 16 year old taking his first solo flight. Yep, he learned to fly an airplane before he learned to drive a car! My 15 year old inherited my inability to decide what to focus on and plays every sport he can find….trouble is he’s pretty darn good at all of them.

I have been trying to keep up with them and figure out what I want to be when I grow up. . . Unfortunately, I woke up today and realized I am middle-aged and STILL haven’t figured that shit out. I just finished taking a nursing course and CPR certification….now I’m just waiting for a job in a hospital or someone to have a heart attack in the grocery store so I can save them and be on the 6 o’clock news.

What’s new with you guys?
:-) love and peace to all-

SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!

Yeah! …wait I’m not in school anymore. What do I care? I can’t help myself from the memories of what it felt like that last day of school and the next morning when I could SLEEP as long as I wanted and I didn’t have to go SIT all day in a chair and listen to stuff I wasn’t that interested in anyway..(except science and biology and ….oh yeah, I liked gym class. It’s funny how your school days stick with you forever. Some memories are a bit painful but hopefully everyone can remember something fantastic and funny about their school days.

Congratulations kids for muddling through another year..now get out there and ENJOY THE SUMMER!

PS: …and don’t spend all day playing on your smartphone! I suggest finding a new sport to try…ever thought of scuba diving? zip line horror? Just DO It! :)

Alice Cooper and The Muppets? Whaaaaaaaaaaat?????? …hilarious video…..

My MOM’s 85th Mother’s Day

Back in 1803 you would NEVER hear of someone living to be 85! But now we live a much longer life- thanks to medicine, doctors, researchers, and psychiatrists! (smile).

My MOM is 85! My DAD lived to be 90! I feel I could drink, smoke, cuss, and pick fights at poker games and still probably live waayyyy longer than most folks; thanks to my heritage. This past weekend my sister, brother, and I took the mom to the lake and had an absolute BLAST! My kids tube’d and knee boarded and laughed (and argued…hey, typical teenagers do that). It was as if every minute was a movie. We seemed to know that these moments were very special and that we would look back on them with wonderful nostalgia. You never know when you will spend that “last” Christmas, “last” Mother’s Day, or “last” DAY with your beloved ones.If you can remember to treat special times as if they might very well be the last…your experience will jump to “amplify”. Memories are all we truly take with us when we leave this earthly plane. I am so thankful for the memories that were made this past weekend.

I Love You Mom!

Lessons from the ‘Furries’…

They don’t know prejudice unless we teach them what it is.

They don’t know fear unless we teach them to be afraid.

They don’t know limitations unless we box them in.

Today, let’s take a few lessons from the ‘Furries’ of the world;                                                                  Forgive others’ mistakes, show love and happiness, and accept those who look/act different from you.

Dumb Blonde

Some questions for you:

Is Taco Bell the Mexican phone company?

Can you use an AM radio in the evening?

Was there really a General Motors in the army?

Is Meow Mix a CD?

Shall I put “Aquarius” at the bottom of the form where it says “sign here”?

Hey, not everyone can be a rocket scientist !

Random NONSENSE

So, I’ve been thinking about how foolishness makes life so very interesting and bearable. There will be no inspirational words or deep thinking with this post; after all it IS Friday. Next week I assure you I will be much more deeply insightful, but for today, let’s just say it’s about nonsense.

Pet Respect

My pets have always been my sunshine on a crappy day. The welcome home from an office filled with demands and people I didn’t really like. My alarm clock of cheeky kisses instead of a blaring beep to pierce the wonderful early morning silence. Hugs when a partner cracked my heart. They filled my life with that something something that we often feel is missing.

Oftentimes I feel guilt about how I have treated my past pets. The dog I left behind to go to college. The horse I sold to buy a car and date boys. The fish I neglected until it died. The dog I sold to move overseas.

Our pets are more than fixtures for our homes, more than something to own; they are FAMILY. We are their WORLD. Give them the love and respect they deserve and be their LIFE PARTNER. Owning a pet is a big responsibility…so don’t own one unless you can be responsible for it. And most of all…be the sunshine in HIS/HER day sometimes. . .
