Paper Dolls

According to Wikipedia.com, paper dresses were invented by the Scott Paper Company in 1966 as a marketing tool. For one dollar, women could buy the dress and also receive coupons for Scott paper products. Imagine their surprise when over half a million women ordered these dresses in under a year!

I’m not sure I would be comfortable, or trusting, to wear a paper dress out for an evening. What if I spilled my wine, or worse yet, brushed by a candle a bit too close? What if I wanted to sit down? What should I do if I need to go to the potty? But credit to The Scott Paper Company for an ingenious marketing idea and amazing credit to these featured artisans who’ve created some amazing fashions from an improbable material.
